Peter Vinograde has established himself as an outstanding interpreter of piano works of J.S. Bach and 20th century composers. His annual tours of Canada, Taiwan and the U.S., in addition to regular piano recitals on New York's St.Andrew Keyboard Series,invariably feature music of living composers.
Dr. Vinograde's numerous distinctions have included first prize in the J.S. Bach International Competition, East-West Artists' presentation of his New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall, and a National Endowment for the Arts sponsored recital in Tully Hall at New York's Lincoln Center featuring Bach's Goldberg Variations and 20th century American works for piano. Frequently heard on Public Radio, his recent National Gallery program was aired on Performance Today, and he was featured on CBC-TV's the Journal. As a chamber musician, he has appeared as a guest pianist with the North Country Chamber Players, the Canadian Chamber Ensemble, and the St. Luke's Players at Caramoor. Recent highlights have included world premieres of Hal Campbell's Piano Concerto (1997) in Utah and Nicolas Flagellos Concerto #3 (1962) in Kentucky, the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2 in Winnipeg, and recitals in Toronto, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and at the Bard Music Festival.
